It has been an incredible week at Killington. Coming off the bustle of the Stifel Killington Cup, we were ready to get out and make some turns. Seems Mother Nature got the memo, as she hooked us up with over a foot of fresh snow this week! Between the natural flakes and the efforts of our snowmaking and grooming teams, conditions have been prime. We’ve also been able to add to our trail count daily for lots of top-to-bottom laps. With that said, we know it can be tempting to poach closed trails, but ask you please respect the ropes, they are there for a reason. Failure to do so will result in the immediate loss of pass privileges.
We’re working hard to expand open terrain and are happy to announce Ramshead Express will open Friday adding some easier terrain to our offerings. We’ve also opened more expert terrain off of the North Ridge quad and work has begun to get Highline and Snwoshed Slope too. Superstar will reopen to the public on December 8, but until then more than 350 skiers from 23 different clubs, academies and universities are using it for race training, benefitting from the unique opportunity to practice on World Cup-caliber terrain. Be sure to check the conditions report for the most up-to-date information before you arrive and download the Killington app for real time updates in the palm of your hand.
On Saturday, we’re excited to welcome back professional skier Alex Hackel for Hike and Hang 3.0 in the Reason Terrain Park. The Woodward Park crew is giving the set up a refresh for this free jam. Skiers and snowboarders of all abilities are welcome to come out and ride, and Alex will be on hand to give out prizes for his favorite tricks or anything else he sees that stokes him out. This event is totally non-competitive, and all about getting together with friends in the name of a good time. After the event, catch a premiere of The Bunch film “Sensus” in the Snowshed Lodge at 3:30 p.m.
Before it falls too far in our rearview, we would like to take a minute to say thank you to everyone who helped make the Stifel Killington Cup such an amazing event. It takes a village to pull it off and we couldn’t do it without all the volunteers, staff, athletes, fans and the entire Killington community. Thanks again to everyone who came out to enjoy and of course, congratulations to Mikeala Shiffrin for winning her 6th Killington Cup Slalom and 90th Audi FIS Ski World Cup overall!
See you on the slopes!
