Upper Black Magic makes its debut

Oenophiles rejoice! We are headed into Wine Fest weekend with two premier events hosted at the resort. On Friday, we’ll hold the Estate Gala at the Peak Lodge from 6:00-8:00 p.m. – your chance to enjoy the view while sampling the finest wines to the sounds of the Summit Pond Quartet. On Saturday, the Grand Tasting will land at the new K-1 Lodge from 1:00–4:00 p.m. with a VIP event kicking off at noon. Guests can enjoy a seemingly endless variety of wines and local artisanal foods and learn from select vintners about the nuances of the fine wines being sampled. The Julian Gerstin Sextet will perform. Tickets to this formal affair are limited and may not be available day of, so secure yours online now.

You can also extend your experience throughout the town of Killington by following the Wine Trail down Killington Road to visit participating local restaurants and KPAA member businesses. Perhaps a perfect way to cap off a day of indulgence would be with some classical music? The season finale of Music in the Mountains takes place at Pico Mountain beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening. Tickets are $30 at the door and the Killington Music Festival faculty and community will come together to celebrate the culmination of the 41st season.  

 

If you’re more interested in getting outside and getting dirty, we get that, and we have good news. Trail Crew has finally dropped the ropes on Upper Black Magic. They’re still at work on the middle section, currently detoured at Caper, but you can catch some air up top while you wait for top-to-bottom laps. We hope everyone got out to ride in celebration of International Mountain Bike day today, and look forward to many more days of riding this summer at the resort as well as on trails around the community. On Saturday afternoon from 3:00-5:30 p.m., Cooler in the Mountains will offer free live music in the Snowshed Base area. Kendall Street Company brings their genre-fluid, eclectic-rock sounds to the stage all the way from Virginia and it is sure to be a wild time, best enjoyed with a Kona Big Wave in hand. Be sure to recycle your can when you’re done! Our team recently got the chance to visit Casella’s Zero Sort recycling facility in Rutland and you can learn more in our latest Insider Blog. Programs such as this are just one of the ways we intend to Play Forever.

Learn To Mountain Bike 

Our learn-to-mountain bike program includes all the gear you'll need, plus professional instruction from our squad of experts. It’s ideal for first timers, as we’ll cover everything from bike handling to reading the terrain. Start out on the skills track to get comfortable on one of our top-of-the-line Mountain Bikes, before heading up the Snowshed Express Quad for some trail experience, then go bigger from there. 

US Open Registration Open Now 

The US Open of Mountain Biking returns to The Beast September 21-23, 2023. Professional and amateur athletes from around the world will compete in the Open Class Downhill for one of the largest cash purses in racing and registration is now open!
