We are in full swing with over 150 trails open thanks to ample natural snowfall and of course, the efforts of our snowmaking team. Thanks to a little cooperation from Mother Nature, we’ve been able to fill in many of your expert favorites including Double Dipper, Cascade, Outer Limits and Dream Maker. The team has also been busy on Ramshead, where this weekend, Peace Park will make its seasonal debut. Choose from over 1,000 feet of unique freestyle features inspired by Olympian Danny Davis, who is actually planning a trip of his own to The Beast next month.
We have had a little warm up, so be sure to check the conditions report for the most up-to-date information on lifts and trails before you arrive.
Don’t forget, the Bear Mountain Quad will open at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday for some extra laps. After you’ve tired yourself out on the slopes, head in to one of our lodges for some après. Our friends at Kona Big Wave will be adding to the fun in the K-1 and Long Trail pubs this weekend, and as always, we’ll have live local music starting around 2:00 p.m.
Don’t want to lug your gear home at the end of the night? Take advantage of our new overnight equipment storage option in the K-1 Rental Shop for just $10 a night. You can also choose to add a hot wax for an additional $15. And if you realize your gear needs a tune-up midday, the K-1 tune shop is open daily and can often turn your gear in less time than it takes to eat lunch.
Finally, we’re wrapping up National Safety Month. This January, we’ll be making a donation to the Snow Angel Foundation as part of our Play Forever commitment to support our community, and we hope you’ve gotten a chance to interact with one of our on-hill activations – Ski Patrol will be at the top of the Snowdon Six Express from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting). If you miss them, our new Mountain Safety team will remain vigilant, so don’t hesitate to talk to them with questions or concerns. Although the official month is wrapping up, our commitment to safety is season-long at Killington and we thank you for continuing to do your part by obeying Your Responsibility Code and skiing and riding in control at all times.
See you on the trails!
