The Fox US OPEN of Mountain Biking weekend is here! The biggest bike event of the year returns to The Beast all weekend long, and it is so much more than a race. Come enjoy this celebration of all things mountain biking and watch some of the world’s best vying for one of the largest prize purses in the sport.
Spectating is free all weekend, and we highly recommend the Dual Slalom on Friday where racers speed down the course on Ramshead side-by-side. Of course, you won’t want to miss the spectacular airtime in the Red Bull Best Whip competition on Saturday night from 5:00-7:00 p.m. One-way spectator lift tickets to Snowshed and Ramshead are available for $15 on the day of the event, shuttling you up the hill so you can hike down and find the best view of the downhill races.
Please be aware, bag checks will be set up all weekend and no outside alcohol is allowed in the US OPEN venue. Be sure to familiarize yourself with all our US OPEN policies here. There are still a few opportunities to volunteer and don’t forget to stop by the Killington Sports retail shop and get your official commemorative US OPEN t-shirt.
In addition to the event and public access to trails off Snowshed and Ramshead, K-1 has reopened for biking. Stay tuned to the conditions page for updates on trail closures due to the Enduro race on Saturday. We will also keep you up to date on social media as trails reopen throughout the day.
The leaves are really starting to turn, and the K-1 Gondola is now spinning 7 days a week through October 15, for prime foliage viewing. The K-1 Lodge will be open for dining Friday-Sunday.
