This past week at Killington can be summed up best with four words: suns out, guns out! Our snowmaking team has been firing on all cylinders on Superstar, and we’re starting to see the signature glacier take shape. They’ve also added depth on Ovation, Skyelark and other key areas around the mountain, setting us up for the longest season in the East to continue for many months to come.
Saturday is operating day 100 for the 2023/24 season, but if you’re not among the select few with perfect attendance, never fear. You still have plenty of time left to get your days in and join the club. This weekend looks nice and mild, so get up here to enjoy some soft snow on nearly 150 trails.
The Woodward Park crew has been busy this past week, dropping the rope on The Stash with 40+ features between the trail and woods. Dream Maker is also taking shape, so look for our biggest park features to open sometime this weekend. Be sure to check out the conditions report for the most up-to-date information of feature count and all our open lifts and trails.
In addition to opening two new parks, the Woodward Park Crew has also been getting ready for a very special visitor. Peace Park visionary Danny Davis will be on site on Saturday for laps in his signature park on Ramshead. Stop by for burritos, selfies and live music by Nick Bredice from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at this year’s Party in the Peace Park.
If the park is not your thing, there are no shortage of groomers, cruisers and bump runs to choose from. The Bear Quad will again spin early on Saturday, starting at 7:30 a.m. so you can get in some extra laps on favorites like Outer Limits, Wildfire and Devil’s Fiddle. You may have also noticed we’ve been spinning the South Ridge Quad and Canyon Quad on alternating midweek days at the request of many of our guests.
To cap off your day, be sure to check out live local music in our base lodges – you can find the full schedule here. Each of our base lodges has a unique menu and vibe, so whether you want to take advantage of table service in the Long Trail Pub on the third floor of Snowshed, hang with the locals at Bear Mountain, find family-friendly favorites at Ramshead or enjoy the view from K-1, your ideal après awaits.
See you on the trails!
